Clean it up a little. One of the biggest wrestling stories so far this year has been all of the releases and cuts from WWE. This has been the case both in front of and behind the camera, with several executives being let go from the company earlier this week. This was quite the shake up and it turns out that there is a rather simple reason for a lot of the releases.

According to PWInsider.com, one of the main reasons for the cuts was an attempt to consolidate some of the departments behind the scenes. The feeling was that there were too many departments doing similar work, such as a graphics department for television and digital each. With the cuts, WWE will be able to do the same work with less people on the payroll. There is no word if there will be more cuts coming.

There have been some firings in WWE before. Check out some of the more infamous ones:

Famous Firings - WWE Top 10

Superstars Getting Fired: WWE Top 10

Raw - WWE COO Triple H fires The Miz and R-Truth

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that does not look the best on the surface but it does make sense when you look at more of the details. A company the size of WWE is going to get a little too big at times, which is what seems to have happened here. Hopefully the people who lost their jobs wind up on their feet, as it isn’t like they did anything wrong in the first place.

Will these changes help WWE? Will the company cut any more wrestlers? Let us know in the comments below.
