It could have been different. We are in the middle of the holiday season and that has some impact on the wrestling world as well. With so many things going on at once, it can be more than a little difficult to keep track of what is going on. That is certainly the case for WWE as well, as there are all kinds of changes taking place. It seems that there were several on this week’s SmackDown.

WWE taped a pair of SmackDowns this week, including the Christmas Eve edition. According to Fightful Select, there were several changes to the show throughout the day. The original plans for Friday’s show called for Roman Reigns to open the show with the Usos vs. the New Day in the main event slot. Instead, Reigns was moved to the final slot, with the tag team match being moved up a segment as a result. In addition, planned sitdown interview with Brock Lesnar was planned but dropped, with a women’s tag team match inserted instead. There is no word on why the changes were made.

SmackDown went fairly well anyway. Check out some of the show:

Opinion: This is about as WWE as you can get at the moment and that shouldn’t be a surprise. The company loves to switch up the card at the last minute and that is almost never a good sign. Above all else, there are only so many ways to present a show and I’m not sure why they need to change everything up so frequently. At least the show wound up being ok, but that isn’t always going to be the case.
