Next man up. This Friday, WWE will present its second event from Saudi Arabia with Crown Jewel. A major part of the show is to be the World Cup Of Wrestling tournament, featuring eight of the best wrestlers in the world. John Cena was announced for the tournament, but it seems that he isn’t going to go due to the ongoing political issues in the country. Seven people makes for a weird tournament, so a replacement is needed.
According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, Bobby Lashley is currently the leading candidate to replace Cena in the World Cup Of Wrestling tournament. With less than a week to go before the tournament, Cena has yet to be written out, meaning any sort of angle would have to take place this week on Monday Night Raw. Cena was the first name announced for the tournament and the only entrant to not have to win a qualifying match. At the moment, no brackets have been released for the tournament.
I know injury concerns have been making the rounds, but I’m hearing Bobby Lashley is John Cena’s replacement in the World Cup at #WWECrownJewel

Chant with him!
Opinion: That’s about as good as you could have asked for. At the end of the day, Monday Night Raw has a limited amount of talent available and there’s a real chance that Cena was going to make a heck of a run in the tournament. Lashley might not be the hottest thing in the world at the moment but he has a great look and presence to him so this is their best available option.
What do you think of Lashley as the replacement? Who will win the tournament? Let us know in the comments below.
