He’s down for now. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be out of action and some of them are more serious than others. One of the worst is to have someone get hurt, as an injury can change everything up out of nowhere. You never know when something is going to keep a wrestler out of action for a long time and now we seem to be seeing it again with a WWE star.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Moving On: Former AEW Star Reportedly Signs With WWE, Heading To NXT
This week on Monday Night Raw, New Day faced the Viking Raiders. During the match, Drew McIntyre, who was sitting ringside, got involved in the fight and threw his chair at Erik, only to hit Xavier Woods by mistake. Woods has announced that as a result of the chair to the face, he has been diagnosed with whiplash and will not be able to wrestle next week. Woods said that he will see us again next week. There is no word on whether or not this is a storyline or legitimate injury.
Moments before I had a chair hurled into my face giving me whiplash. Doctors orders, no wrestling next week. Was pumped to be out there on my birthday but it looks like I'll be spending it at home next Monday. See yall the week after! https://t.co/ZBGd8qzYZS

New Day has been busy lately. Check out what the team has been doing, including the chair toss:
Opinion: Hopefully this is a storyline rather than something actually wrong with Woods, as you never want to see someone get hurt. That being said, the impact certainly felt like a way to take Woods off of television for a week if necessary. What matters is getting Woods back in the ring, as it feels like this is the start of a three way feud between the Raiders, New Day and McIntyre/Matt Riddle.
