Back At It: Long Injured AEW Star Returning To Ring This Week

Welcome back. Injuries can be one of the worst things to happen to any wrestler as you never know how long someone might be out of action. They can wreck a company’s plans for a wrestler and that can change the situation for several others. Unfortunately that was the case for an up and coming AEW star earlier this year but now things are getting back to normal.

AEW has announced that Penelope Ford will be returning to the ring this week on Dark: Elevation when she faces Heather Reckless. This will be Ford’s first match since January 15 as she has been out of action with an undisclosed injury. AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that she was injured in early July but did not say how long she would be missing from the ring.

Opinion: This is the kind of return that can be good for Ford, as she can get her feet wet with a simple match on Elevation rather than hoping for the best in a major spot. Ford is someone who has the charisma and is getting better in the ring to mean something and it was sad to see her miss that much time. At least she is back and healthy now and that should mean a good spot for her in AEW.
