We’re the new generation. There are all kinds of wrestling families throughout history and some of them go back multiple generations. It is interesting to see a new family member showing up again, especially if they can be put together with a member of another family. Despite being rare, it does happen occasionally and now it is happening again, with something of a familiar situation.

Over the weekend, Brogan Finlay made his WWE debut, facing Charlie Dempsey in a losing effort at an NXT live event in Tampa, Florida. Finlay is a fourth generation wrestler and the son of Fit Finlay, while Dempsey is the son of William Regal. Their fathers feuded in WCW and then teamed together in WWE. Brogan acknowledged the history together on Twitter, saying the two were “finishing what our dads started”.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing you do not get to see very often and it is a rather cool thing to see. William and Fit had quite the connection back in the day and getting to see their children doing it as well must be a thrill for both of them. We could be in for seeing them do something together when they make it to the main roster, which opens up quite a selection of options.
