Back At It: Surprise Return Takes Place At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Welcome back. There are all kinds of people involved in wrestling who make a show feel more important without being a regular in the ring. Many times there are stars who have nothing to do with the actual wrestling who help move a wrestling show along. One of those stars returned this week at a special event as a preview for another full time run in the future.

This week’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event saw the surprise return of Pat McAfee, who called the show along with Michael Cole. McAfee is currently on hiatus from his full time job of calling Monday Night Raw due to his college football duties for ESPN. He is expected to return to Monday Night Raw full time when the season ends as part of the new broadcasting tam when the show moves to Netflix in January.

Opinion: This was a great surprise for the fans and makes the show feel that much bigger. Like him or not, McAfee is a big deal in the sports community and having him added to the presentation makes Monday Night Raw look that much more important. I’m curious to see how he does when he gets back on the full time call, which should make for a nice addition to what WWE is doing.
