Not done yet. Like many other sports, there are a few roles which wrestlers can fill after their in-ring careers are over. Those stars can occasionally get to do something to continue their careers despite not wrestling anymore. However, there is often the chance that someone could wrestle again anymore, which is what one current non-wrestler is talking about doing.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The New One: Interesting Name Receiving Backstage Praise In WWE, Carrying New Workload

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was interviewed by Insight With Chris Van Vliet and discussed possibly continuing his in-ring career. Aldis said that he was not officially done wrestling but had not asked to get back in the ring. Instead, he said that he was available and if WWE wants him to return to the ring, he would be ready. Aldis also said that he would like to wrestle again, saying he feels he does “meet the criteria to be on that canvas at least once.” Aldis, 38, has not wrestled since October 2023. Here are some highlights of his interview, with transcription courtesy of 411mania.com:

On Whether Becoming General Manager Means He Is Retired From The Ring

“I guess. But I also don’t necessarily see it like that 100%. I see it more as a sort of maybe not a full-time wrestler, but I don’t know. Look, it gets asked all the time by everyone except me. I have never once said, ‘Hey what about me? Could I wrestle?’ Because I don’t need to. If and when the time comes, it’ll be what they want and it will hopefully be the right time. I just told them that if you want to do that, I’m ready.”

And On If He Wants To Wrestle Again

“In all honesty, no. I would like to lace them up. I don’t care if it’s on a regular basis but I’ve earned it, once. I don’t know. If it was one more time, so be it. Like I said, I feel like I meet the criteria to be on that canvas at least once. [My bicep is] 100%.”

Aldis is quite good in WWE. Check out his time in the company:

Opinion: This is something that could make for an interesting situation as Aldis is someone who has done some good things so far. At the end of the day, he is a seasoned veteran and still more than young enough to get back in the ring if he is given the chance. WWE seems to know what they have with him and waiting for the right time to have him get in the ring is not a bad idea at all.
