That’s a big one. There are all kinds of wrestling promotions around the world but the bigger ones very rarely cross paths with each other. It can be a big deal when those promotions get together and see how their stars fare against one another. We will be seeing it in a major way later this month and now we have a much better idea of what to expect at the show.

Over the weekend at New Japan Dominion, AEW star Jon Moxley defeated Evil to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Following the match, Tetsuya Naito came to the ring to challenge Moxley for a title match at AEW Forbidden Door on June 30. Moxley accepted the challenge and the match has been made official. Moxley defeated Naito to win the title on April 12 in Chicago.

Opinion: This is where the story seemed likely to go as Naito never got his rematch and is going to want to get the title back. I’m not sure I can see that happening, as Moxley will not have even held the title for three months by the time we got to Forbidden Door. It should be a heck of a fight though, which is what matters the most in a situation like this one.
