Talk to me. Commentary is one of the most important parts of any wrestling broadcast as the commentary team is tasked with guiding the audience in the direction that the promotion wants them to go. Last week, it was announced that Jesse Ventura would be returning to broadcast Saturday Night’s Main Event, beginning with this weekend’s episode. Ventura appeared on the Bill Simmons Podcast and revealed that he will be broadcasting four episodes of the show a year, which would mean all of the planned shows. Ventura, 73, has not called a wrestling show since 2009.

Opinion: That’s a lot to ask of Ventura but if WWE thinks they can make it work, we could be in for a good bit of nostalgia. At the end of the day, Ventura is only going to be working four nights a year and that could keep him fresh enough on commentary. I’m not sure how well it is going to go, but as a fan of 1980s WWF, this could be a lot worse, as Ventura was the voice of the show for such a long time.
