It just keeps getting worse. There may be no more interesting case in wrestling today than Lars Sullivan. Despite having all kinds of physical gifts which could take him to the top of WWE, Sullivan has had to deal with one problem after another, from controversial remarks to a horrible knee injury. Now he might have another reason to hold him back and it is beyond his control.
The biggest part of Sullivan’s appeal is that he is a monster. There are very few wrestlers in WWE today who can match his size and presence and that makes him a valuable asset. Sullivan looks like an unstoppable villain and he could be presented as such. However, he is not the only person on the roster who can come across that way and now it is going to become a problem for him.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is hesitant to push Sullivan as an unstoppable heel because Roman Reigns is already being presented as an unstoppable heel on SmackDown. WWE does not want to push two people in the same way, as it could hurt Reigns’ appeal. Since returning from his year plus hiatus due to a knee injury, Sullivan has only wrestled two matches, with his most recent coming on October 23. He has appeared in some sitdown interviews, but has not been on television since November.
Sullivan is a monster. Check out what he can do when he gets the chance:
Opinion: This is one of those situations where WWE seems to have not thought things through. If they do not want the two similar wrestlers on the same show, don’t have them on the same show. They have the Draft to fix things up and could have just made a change then, or they could do the same thing again. Why not fix things up if it is such a problem? Sullivan is a potential star, but if he isn’t given a chance, how much can he do?
What can Sullivan do in WWE? What should he do next? Let us know in the comments below.
