Keep it growing. Summerslam has some special potential this year and that is a great thing for WWE to see. The company could be in for an awesome night as there are so many things to put on the card. That could include anything from special feuds to gimmick matches to title matches or maybe all of the above. One of them was added to the card this week.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Damian Priest challenged Sheamus to a United States Title match at Summerslam. Sheamus accepted, making the match official. The match came about after Priest called out Sheamus after defeating John Morrison. Sheamus came back into the arena and accepted the challenge, after which Priest had to take out Morrison against.
Priest debuted on the main roster at the 2021 Royal Rumble after over a year in NXT. During his debut, he began a feud with the Miz and John Morrison, ultimately leading to a tag match where Priest and Bad Bunny defeated the two of them at WrestleMania 37. Following a brief hiatus due to a back injury, Priest returned and began his feud with Sheamus.
Sheamus could be in trouble. Check out what he has to face at Summerslam:
Opinion: This is the kind of match I’ve been hoping for from both of them. Sheamus has done a great job of avoiding the bigger and stronger challengers but now has to deal with Priest. That is a well done story and if Priest can back it up at the show, everything should be fine. I could definitely see a title change too and that is what you want to go with for this setup.
