There is still room for more. We are less than a week away from the return of the Great American Bash and that means there are some things to get excited about. With so many things on the show, there are going to be some interesting combinations, some of which we haven’t seen before. There are still some spots available on the cards though and NXT has filled up another one.
There are a lot of people in NXT and some of them can be a little more memorable than others. One of the most memorable debuts in recent months has been that of Timothy Thatcher, who debuted as Matt Riddle’s replacement Tag Team Title partner. Thatcher went on to turn on Riddle and defeated him in Riddle’s final NXT match. That was quite the start, and now we know what Thatcher is doing next.
NXT General Manager William Regal has announced that Thatcher will be facing Oney Lorcan on the first night of the Great American Bash this coming Wednesday. This comes after Lorcan requested that Regal make the match. Thatcher has not wrestled since the May 27 NXT when he defeated Riddle. Since then, he has appeared in vignettes, teaching students how to wrestle.
You are nothing, if not excitable, Mr. @ONEYLORCAN. I’m pleased to say you will NOT need to take any further action as I’m granting you a match against Timothy Thatcher THIS WEDNESDAY on #WWENXT. #NXTGAB https://t.co/V5xyh4sA1J

Thatcher is a monster and Lorcan isn’t bad either. Check out what the two of them can do:
Opinion: This works out well as Lorcan is so intensely crazy that he can make anything work and Thatcher looks like a star every time he is in the ring. I don’t think the winner is exactly in doubt but we should be in for a good showcase from both of them. That works out well enough and it’s a nice addition to the show. If nothing else, having these matches announced in advance make the shows feel that much more important and that’s a good thing.
How do you see the match going? What is Thatcher’s ceiling in NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
