He beat it. One of the most important parts of WrestleMania Weekend was the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which was headlined by the induction of Rey Mysterio. A multiple time World Champion, Mysterio has been around WWE for most of the last twenty years and has done just about everything during his time in the company. However, he has now opened up about something else that happened during his career, which is not as positive.

During an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, Mysterio opened up about a painkiller addiction he battled during his WWE career. Mysterio revealed that his wife found out about his addiction while they were on vacation and said that either Mysterio get cleaned up or he would lose his family. After his vacation, he went to Vince McMahon and said he needed to go to rehab, with McMahon praising his decision. Mysterio credits the stint in rehab with making him a stronger person. He did not mention when these things took place.

Opinion: As McMahon said, it takes someone special to realize that he has a problem and then deal with it, which is what Mysterio did. Maybe it took his wife threatening him to make it happen, but whatever it took wound up working out pretty well. What matters is that Mysterio is healthy and has been able to continue his career for a very long time. As long as he is healthy, it would be nice to keep him around even longer.
