A wrestler winning a major title can be a game changer in their career as it can establish that they are on a higher level. That was the case again, with an already established star winning one of the most important championships in wrestling today.

Over the weekend at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Windy City Riot event, AEW’s Jon Moxley defeated Tetsuya Naito to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title for the first time in his career. Moxley has been absent from AEW television in recent weeks and it is not clear when he will be returning to AEW. The win makes Moxley the first person to hold the WWE, AEW and IWGP World Titles.

Opinion: Well that came out of nowhere. It can be a big deal when you see someone win one of the most important championships in wrestling and Moxley just pulled that off. While there is a good chance that he will is getting the title for the sake of the upcoming Forbidden Door event, this is a huge career milestone for Moxley and he deserves the credit for being where he is today.
