That’s in a name. There are all kinds of things that come together to make a wrestler into a star. Last weekend at AEW Worlds End, Adam Copeland made a surprise return to en the show, getting into a staredown with Jon Moxley. The two met this week on Dynamite in a six man tag, with Copeland and FTR defeating Moxley and the Death Riders. During the match, Copeland was officially introduced as “’ The Rated R Superstar’ Cope”, with commentary referring to him as “Cope” throughout the rest of the match. He has used Cope as an unofficial nickname during his time in AEW.
He’s a star. Check out Cope’s return to the ring and his time in AEW:
Opinion: This is one of those changes that might not be the best move, as shortening Copeland’s name in half is quite the move. I’m not sure I can imagine this name change lasting that much longer, as it wasn’t exactly the smoothest change of pace. Just going back to Adam Copeland is not a bad idea and hopefully AEW makes the move back, as this hasn’t been going so well to start.
What do you think of the change? What should Copeland be called? Let us know in the comments below.
