That’s a lot. AEW has not been around for very long in the grand scheme of things, as the company only debuted back in 2019. That means they still have a lot of things that they have not done yet and it will be a big deal when they start to happen. In this case one of those things has finally taken place and while it is not the most positive, it is something that is a long time in the making.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, AEW has released a number of wrestlers from their contracts. The following wrestlers are reported to have been released from the company:
The Boys
Jora Johl
Anthony Henry
Gravity
Stu Grayson
Parker Boudreaux
Slim J
In addition, manager Jose The Assistant and ring announcer Dasha Kuret have been released. There is no word on what led to the releases or if more will be taking place. AEW has let very few wrestlers or employees go for any reason throughout their history and this is their first ever mass release.
In all, we're told that the following releases have occurred in AEW:

Dasha

Jora Johl

Opinion: While AEW has a longstanding reputation of rarely letting wrestlers go, there are instances when a promotion needs to let some people walk. For instance, Grayson had not wrestled on an AEW (or Ring Of Honor) show since August. There comes a point where it is probably better to let wrestlers go and seems to be what AEW is doing. They do not need to release a ton or do this often, but once in awhile is not a bad thing.
