Tick tock? There is all kinds of talent on the AEW roster with quite the variety of wrestlers and stars. The company has found a great mix that allows them to present a bunch of different matches with quite the series of combinations. At some point, some of the wrestlers are going to have to leave though and that might be taking place again with one of its stars.

According to Fightful Select, Brian Cage’s AEW contract will be expiring in “a matter of weeks”, though there is still a chance that the two sides will be able to come together on a new deal. Cage’s original AEW contract was set to expire in 2022 but the company picked up his option, which reportedly surprised Cage, who had not been used much at the time of the pick up. WWE has also reportedly put on some “feelers” to see if there is any interest in bringing Cage in. Cage is set to face Bryan Danielson this week on Dynamite.

Opinion: I’m a bit surprised at Cage being resigned to AEW and it would not surprise me to see the two sides part ways. For some reason, AEW has not seemed interested in pushing Cage that hard, though it has changed a bit in recent weeks. It would be nice for Cage to stick around, but if he is not interested in being in AEW either, then we might be seeing the end of his time in the company this week.
