Who’s laughing now? Last year, CM Punk got into the UFC octagon to fulfill a lifelong dream. A lot of people said he was going to get destroyed because he was too old and too banged up to do it but Punk said he would put in everything he had. Punk wound up lasting two minutes and fourteen seconds with Punk being completely massacred. However, there’s a detail that might make things a bit easier to take.

Punk’s wife AJ Lee recently appeared on the “Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast” and mentioned that Punk’s payday for the fight was one million dollars, which made Punk rather happy. Lee also mentioned her thoughts on Punk’s post-fight speech and what she did when she first saw him after the fight.

“ I don’t think it hurt to earn a million dollars for one night, he was pretty psyched about that. He came backstage with the biggest smile on his face and was completely sweaty, which I threw myself on him, I just told him how proud I am of him. His speech afterward was so moving and I try not to get so emotional around people.”

Opinion: In case you’re not the best at math, that’s around $7,500 a second. Punk’s loss was one of the bigger jokes in wrestling last year as the only positive to come out of it was he got in there and did what he had always wanted to do. I don’t know if he’ll ever have another fight but he did get in there and got a huge paycheck for it so that’s quite impressive.

Do you think Punk ever fights again? Does he ever return to wrestling? Let us know in the comments below.
