So that’s what happened. Sometimes in wrestling, you see an angle that takes the fans to another level. Whatever is taking place in the story goes so well that the fans can’t help themselves anymore. It was a lot more common back in the older days of wrestling, but every now and then you’ll see it happening today. That seemed to be the case last week, but it wasn’t what it seemed.

Last week’s episode of Dynamite saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Wardlow attack Cody with a belt, leaving him laying after refusing to give up. After the beating was finishes, Friedman kicked Cody low and ran into the crowd. As Friedman and Wardlow posed to end the show, a fan attacked Friedman as the show welt off the air. It turns out things were actually a little bit different.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the “fan” was actually Frankie Kazarian posing as a fan. Kazarian’s face was never shown during the segment and the attack was not planned. Kazarian felt that someone should be going after Friedman in the segment and doing this was better than waiting for an actual fan to do anything. There is no suggestion that Kazarian will be mentioned as the attacker.

Can you blame them for getting mad? Check out the brutal segment:

Opinion: I liked the surprise at the end but I’m not sure how logical it was to have Kazarian do this without telling anyone. Having Kazarian posing as a fan makes more sense than having an actual fan doing it but segment at the end was a good idea as it made Friedman that much more of a heel. Kazarian is fine to put in there and it is safer, but it doesn’t feel as special now.
