They All Did It: AEW’s Devil And Henchmen Revealed At Worlds End

There he is. There are all kinds of storylines that have been used over the years, with several popping up time after time. Some of these are rather basic stories that can be applied over and over in different circumstances. The concepts work because they can be used with all kinds of wrestlers and stories. One of the classics has been used this year and now we have the big conclusion.

In recent months, a masked person in Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s Devil mask has been tormenting Friedman and various others. Over the weekend and AEW Worlds End, Friedman lost the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe. Following the match, the Devil’s Henchmen appeared and grabbed Friedman and his fried Adam Cole. The lights then went out, with the lights coming back on to reveal Cole as the Devil and Wardlow, Roderick Strong and the Kingdom as the henchmen. The team then attacked Friedman to end the show.

Opinion: This is something that has been set up over the last few weeks and Cole is probably the most logical choice. The idea seems to be that Friedman is a changed man but he still has to deal with the sins of his past. That could make for an interesting story, but it could be more than a little while before the whole thing wraps up, especially given Friedman’s injury status.
