Another one on the list. There are all kinds of wrestling matches but some of them can be very dangerous. While there is always the chance that someone is going to get hurt in a regular match, there are ways to up the danger by adding some kind of stipulation. Unfortunately it seems that another star was injured in one of the more violent matches of the year.
In a new YouTube video from JOFO In The Ring, AEW’s Matt Menard revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury during the Blood & Guts match on the June 29 Dynamite. Menard said that he has torn parts of his shoulder, labrum and rotator cuff, but he will be able to rehab the injuries and avoid surgery. The injury took place during a spot with Santana during the match. There is no word on how long Menard will be out of action, though he has been appearing on AEW TV in non-wrestling segments.
Opinion: You never want to hear something like that and it is a shame that Menard will have to be out of action. He and Angelo Parker have shown quite the charisma as part of the Jericho Appreciation Society and it is nice to hear that things could be that much worse. Hopefully he is back in action sooner rather than later, especially from what sounds like a pretty serious injury.
What do you think of Menard? How can he be best used in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
