That doesn’t sound good. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world and some of them are in different stages of their careers. While you can find several in the ring at any given point, there are some who have long since retired from active competition. There is still a place for them in the industry, but one of the legends is now having some serious issues of his own.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jake Roberts has been missing from AEW television due to health issues. While it is not clear exactly what is wrong, Roberts recently made an appearance at the Connecticut Horrorfest, where he was in a wheelchair and was using an oxygen tube. There is no word on when or if Roberts will return to AEW, where he has been managing Lance Archer.
Roberts has had a very nice run in AEW. Check out his time there, plus elsewhere:
Opinion: I’m not sure what’s wrong with Roberts but that does not sound great. Roberts has been around the wrestling world for years and has not had the easiest life. Hopefully things are not as bad as they seem for him, as he does not seem to be in the best of shape. It would be great to see him back on television, but that might not be the most likely situation at this point.
What do you think of Roberts? Where did he do his best work? Let us know in the comments below.
