That’s a long time. It seems like you can’t go more than a few days without talking about an injury in wrestling these days. That’s never a good thing to hear as an injury can change a lot of things for both a wrestler and the company they work for in the blink of an eye. It can happen to anyone at any time and one of the latest is going to keep someone on the shelf for a long time.

AEW has done some great things in their still relatively short existence and a lot of that is due to the diverse mixture of talent on their roster. They have a great mix of wrestlers both old and new, which allows them to create some rather interesting combinations. Some of their younger wrestlers can hang with anyone, but it is going to be a pretty long time before we see one of them back in the ring.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Trent will be out of action for four to five months due to a torn pectoral muscle. Trent will not need surgery and will rehab the injury, which took place at some point in December. The injury was referenced by Miro during a recent edition of AEW Dynamite, as he was happy that Trent would not be able to interrupt the wedding of Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.

Opinion: Whether you’re a fan of Trent and the Best Friends or not, it’s horrible to see someone going onto the shelf for that long. Trent is someone who has seemed like he could break out on his own one day and he has already shown what he can do in the ring. Hopefully he is back sooner rather than later, because AEW has so much talent running around that it can be easy to lose your spot in a hurry.
