It happens. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them can take quite a long time to heal. You might not see someone in the ring for a good while after they get hurt and unfortunately that can cause quite a few plans to be changed at the last minute. That is what happened this week, as an injury needed some more time to heal than previously expected.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Update On Hikuleo’s WWE Status, Speculation On Why He Has Not Debuted Yet
This week on AEW Dynamite, a video aired announcing that Powerhouse Hobbs was not medically cleared to travel to this week’s show and he had to be pulled as a result. Hobbs had received stitches after a brawl with Damian Priest on Collision last week and they had not properly healed, resulting in Hobbs being pulled from this week’s show. According to Fightful Select, this is a legitimate situation and AEW had to change plans as a result. Hobbs was said to be heavily factored into this week’s Dynamite and Collision, the latter of which was taped after Dynamite.

Opinion: Unfortunately this is something that happens from time to time and there is little that can be done to stop it. Hobbs got banged up during a fight on Collision and that is going to have consequences on occasion. It could have happened to anyone and he isn’t at fault for what happened. What matters is getting him back to full health, which should be the case rather soon.
