AEW Reveals Its Annual AEW Award Winners

Open the envelope. At some point or another, any and every wrestling fan has discussed the best and worst of wrestling with someone else. It might have been over the best wrestler, the best match, the best move or vice versa, but it is something that almost everyone does. Now it has happened again, with fans getting a way in who is officially the best.

AEW announced its 2021 AEW Awards this weekend, with twelve awards being presented. The awards covered the best of AEW in 2021, including debuts, matches, promos, breakout stars and more. Fans were allowed to vote on the awards, with the winners being announced on a special streamed on AEW’s YouTube challel. Here is the full list of award winners:

* Biggest Surprise: Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson’s Debut
* Best Moment On The Mic: CM Punk Returns
* Biggest WTF Moment: NYE Street Fight
* Biggest Beatdown: Hangman Adam Page Goes 60 With Bryan Danielson
* Best Twitter Follow: Nyla Rose
* High Flyer: Dante Martin
* Best AEW Fashion Moment: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.’s Brittsburgh Jacket
* Best Tag Team Brawl: Young Bucks vs. Lucha Brothers Steel Cage Match
* Best Mic Duel: MJF And CM Punk On Thanksgiving Eve
* Breakout Star Male: Sammy Guevara
* Breakout Star Female: Jade Cargill
* Wrestler Of The Year: Kenny Omega

Opinion: This is something that will always be fun and this year’s edition seemed to fit the description. Wrestling awards are things that have been around for a long time and can be used either as a feel good moment or a way to set up a feud. While almost the end of March is a bit late for year end awards, this is still something that made for a nice night for Aew and that is all they needed to be.
