There’s the next one. AEW has been around for a few years now and has built up its own identity. The company has several things that make it feel unique and stand out from other promotions. This includes the way the roster is set up, as several wrestlers are put together in stables. They have become a hallmark of the company and now we have another one added to the list.

This week on AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman introduced Stokely Hathaway and his stable, the Firm. The stable, which includes W. Morrissey, Lee Moriarty, the Gunn Club and Ethan Page, were described as Friedman’s stable on retainer, as they will help him when necessary before going their separate ways again. Hathaway has built up the team in recent weeks by handing the wrestlers his business card.

Opinion: This is at least an interesting idea and I could go for what they are doing with the stable on retainer. I could go for that more than trying to come up with a reason for MJF to be close friends with all of these people, as it isn’t MJF’s style. This is the kind of thing that could make MJF a World Champion and that would would seem to be the end game of the whole idea anyway.
