Well that’s different. Celebrities have been brought in to wrestling events for years and the results have been quite successful on occasion. You never know when you are going to see a celebrity who happens to be a smash in wrestling and as a result, there have been some interesting names brought in over the years. Now one is being brought in after quite the absence from the sport.

AEW has announced that basketball Hall Of Famer and NBA legend Dennis Rodman will be making his debut with the company this weekend on Collision. The show will take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, where Rodman played with the Chicago Bulls. There is no word on what Rodman will be doing at the show. Rodman was part of the NWO in 1997/8 and wrestled a handful of matches for WCW, including matches involving Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Lex Luger and the Giant.

Opinion: I get the idea here and odds are this is designed to make up for CM Punk being suspended, but I’m not sure what Rodman is supposed to do here. He’s 62 years old and hasn’t been involved in wrestling in over twenty years. Hopefully this is nothing more than a quick cameo, but AEW has done stranger things with some of the celebrities it has had over the years.
