It’s long overdue in a young company. AEW has all kinds of talent and that is a good problem to have. There are so many wrestlers on their roster who could go a long way in wrestling and there is a reason to believe that they could do something rather interesting if they are given the chance. Getting that chance is the problem, though now they might have a way to get there.

One of the easiest and most successful ways to get a wrestler some attention is a title. Fans are always going to react to a championship and that isn’t hard to understand. There is something so simple about a big shiny belt and it always gets you noticed. Some companies go WAY too far with them but that has not been the case with AEW. Therefore, they are adding one to the collection.

AEW has announced a new championship, called the TNT Title, which will be coming to the promotion next month. The first champion will be crowned in an eight man tournament, with the finals coming at Double Or Nothing on May 23. The top half of the bracket will be unveiled this week on Dark and the second half will be unveiled the following night on Dynamite.

There are a few names you can probably pencil in. Check out some of them in action:

Opinion: This is something that AEW could certainly use as they have all kinds of talent available on their roster with no realistic goal. You can have all of the wrestlers you want talking about how they would love to be World Champion, but how many of them can get close to that level at the moment? This is a nice middle ground and something that could be useful for the company.
