Add It To The List: WWE Introducing New NXT Title

That’s a new one. There are all kinds of championships in wrestling and it can be quite the moment when a new one is introduced. It opens up a variety of questions, including who the first champion might be and how they will officially be crowned. We are going to be getting to answer those questions again soon as a new title has officially been announced for the near future.

This weekend at NXT Stand & Deliver, General Manager Ava announced the introduction of the NXT Women’s North American Title. While no details were announced, Ava mentioned that the first champion will be crowned in the near future. NXT currently has one women’s title, with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles being unified with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles last year.

This should be big. Check out some of the women in NXT:

Opinion: This is something that WWE has been hinting at for a little while and right now, the NXT women’s division has the depth to make this work. I’m sure we will probably be in for a tournament or some kind of a competition for the new title and that could make for a cool few weeks. For now though, NXT is in a good place and this is the right time to do something like this.
