Farewell? Retirement is a tricky concept in wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone have their final match. What makes wrestling all the trickier is a wrestler can always come back for one more solo match rather than having to wrestle a full season. It can be a huge deal when someone is done in the ring and that might be the case again with quite the star.

According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, AEW star Christopher Daniels’ in-ring career is “likely coming to a close” after his Texas Deathmatch against Hangman Page on this week’s Collision. While it is not confirmed that Daniels will be done in the ring, it is believed that this will be one of if not his last matches. AEW President Tony Khan thanked Daniels after the match. Daniels, 54, also works backstage for AEW as head of Talent Relations.

Daniels has had quite the career. Check out his time in AEW:
Opinion: This is something that had to happen at some point, as Daniels is like any other wrestler, in that he is not immune to time. Every wrestler has to hang up their boots at some point and Daniels went out after a hard fought match. It’s always nice to see a wrestler going out on their own terms and Daniels was nowhere near embarrassing himself in the ring, so this could have been a lot worse.
