She’s #1. There are all kinds of titles and championships in professional wrestling, including WWE. Each of those titles has something in common though, in that they are all going to have to have an inaugural champion. It can be a huge deal for someone’s career if they are the first champion in a title’s history and that has taken place again, with a new champion being crowned.

Last month, WWE introduced the Women’s United States Title, the first women’s midcard title in the company. This weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Chelsea Green defeated Michin to win a tournament to become the inaugural champion. Green winning the title had been reported earlier in the week, with WWE reportedly having decided on the choice to make her the first titleholder.

Opinion: This is something that needed to happen, as Green has come such a long way in in the last few months. She has clearly put in the work to become that much better at everything she is doing and it is nice to see her getting this kind of recognition. The fans certainly gave her a strong reception and that shows you how far Green has come in the last few months.
