That solves things. One of the major issues with Braun Strowman’s injury being far worse than expected is the lack of a #1 contender. There’s no secret to the fact that Strowman was scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at “Great Balls of Fire” and/or “Summerslam 2017”. The problem was solved in a hurry Monday night.

“Monday Night Raw” General Manager Kurt Angle opened the show and announced a fatal five way for “Extreme Rules 2017” for the #1 contendership. The match will see Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns facing off for the right to face Lesnar in July.

Opinion: This is about as good of a lineup as you’re going to have and the Samoa Joe inclusion is very intriguing. My money would be on Balor or Rollins, either of which would be just fine for a shot at Lesnar. I can’t imagine they’ll give it to Reigns just yet because that needs to happen at “Wrestlemania XXXIV” for whatever reason.
