Becky Lynch is the hottest Superstar in WWE. “The Man” has completely reinvented herself and revitalized her wrestling career in the process. Maybe she always had it in her. Or maybe things just happened to fall into place for her. Perhaps it’s a bit of both.

The fact is that Lynch has never looked better. She’s never sounded better. Becky Lynch is a beast in the ring and on the mic. Everything she touches turns to gold and every time she’s on camera, she chews up the scenery. Becky is the top guy in WWE right now. But how long can she maintain her momentum? More importantly, how long will WWE continue to promote her as The Man?

To say that Becky’s future is predicated on WWE’s booking is to suggest that she cannot get over without help. That’s perhaps not a fair assessment of her situation. This is especially true because when she turned heel against Charlotte, her next moves may have indeed been her own. Are fans to believe that Lynch’s Twitter account is being handled by someone else? Is a member of WWE Creative putting words in Becky’s mouth?

Or is Lynch getting herself over at every turn? The company wanted her to be a heel. That was the plan and she betrayed her best friend in order to make it happen. She attacked when Flair’s back was turned. Becky beat Charlotte and took the SmackDown Women’s Championship from her. But that wasn’t enough.

Becky wanted to humiliate Flair. She wanted to take everything from her, including her pride. These are the works of a heel and Lynch played along as instructed. But that plan did not work. WWE fans saw right past it and stared right at Becky, who they felt deserved their praise. Lynch became the coolest Superstar on the roster and fans wanted more of her. In fact, they couldn’t get enough of her.

So when Lynch truly embraced this new turn and used it to her advantage, the fans responded in kind. Suddenly every time she spoke, Becky was on fire. She took shots at babyfaces and heels alike. Everyone was a target. Lynch was supposed to be the antagonist. But instead she became the antihero and antiheroes can say whatever they want. There are no limits and nothing is out of bounds.

Becky knew this and began to have an amazing amount of fun exploiting it. Her Twitter feed has become the go-to destination for every WWE fan with access to the internet. The fans can’t stop talking about her and that’s because of the work that she’s put in to get over. She was hot before. But now she’s nuclear and that’s thanks to her efforts.

So if WWE cools off on her, which is entirely possible, then Becky may be able to weather the storm. But would her work from that point on be enough to keep her moving in the right direction? The issue here is that fans don’t have a tremendous amount of faith in Vince McMahon’s company to deliver when it matters the most. Yes, Becky is over right now. Yes, WWE is firmly in her corner. But what’s ahead for her in 2019?

Becky’s new attitude and antihero persona has drawn comparisons to Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake was always booked on top because the company saw how hot he was and capitalized on it. Lynch is her own woman of course and both situations are indeed different. But WWE must recognize the level of stardom that The Man has reached. The quickest way to slow her down and ultimately end her run, is to back off now.

WWE must continue spotlighting her. Becky Lynch is at her peak but she has not yet peaked. So if the company wants to continue moving forward with her, then steps must be taken now. 2019 can’t just be a good year for Becky. The Irish Lass-Kicker has to own the new year and there’s just no way around it.

This means that WrestleMania 35 must be in the works for Lynch. Becky is fully capable of delivering on the worldwide stage and that is certainly true on The Grandest Stage of Them All. She’s had heat with WWE’s top female Superstars and that heat must lead her to Mania. But who will she face?

The smart money is on current Raw Women’s champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey and Lynch had a confrontation on Raw when Becky and the SmackDown women’s roster invaded Monday Night Raw. Becky had Rousey cinched up in the “Dis-Arm-Her” submission move and Ronda could not find a way out of it. The Baddest Woman on the Planet was rendered useless by Becky, who has since verbally attacked Ronda on social media.

Lynch versus Rousey would be a main event anywhere in the world and the same could be true at WrestleMania 35. But would the company see it that way? When Rousey debuted in the ring at WrestleMania 34, WWE could promote not only her, but Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle. Each one has name recognition outside of pro wrestling circles. But does WWE feel the same about Becky Lynch?

It could be that WrestleMania 35’s main event will feature Becky, Ronda and Charlotte in a Triple Threat Match. The trio represents the best of the best from WWE’s women’s division. Why not book them in the same bout and steal the show in the process?

Despite what happens for Lynch at WrestleMania, WWE must keep going. Now is not the time to relax and believe it will all work out in the end. Lynch is onto something big and the only way to encourage her growth is to cultivate her talent right now. WWE has the ability to do just that. 2019 may indeed belong to The Man.
