WWE have uploaded a video to their official YouTube channel where they interview Asuka about relinquishing her Championship and what is next for her.

Asuka is undoubtedly one of the greatest women in this generation of wrestling. Not only is she the longest reigning NXT Women’s Champion in history, but she is also breaking records on a consistent basis and putting NXT on the map around the world.

In what many believe to be a kayfabe injury, Asuka had to relinquish her Championship to allow for time to focus on healing and getting back to good health. If this is to be believed, Wrestling Rumors extend our deepest wishes to her in getting back to the ring. Though it seems likely at this point that it was a decision made so she could go to the main roster without ending her undefeated streak.

In the video we highly suggest watching below, Asuka explains why she had to forfeit the Championship, what is next for her and what she wants to say to her fans back in Japan.

Are you a fan of Asuka? Would you rather see her go to ‘Raw’ or ‘Smackdown Live?’
