There have been some major changes on 205 Live over the past few weeks and it now seems the brand is going through another as Triple H has taken over creative for the show.

With former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore being released from the company following rape allegations, WWE was forced to create some major changes to the polarizing brand.

Daniel Bryan opened up the brand last week after the WWE Mixed Match Challenge episode to reveal that former Impact Wrestling talent Rockstar Spud would be brought in as the 205 Live General Manager under the name of Drake Maverick, effective immediately.

Maverick announced a 16-man tournament that would culminate in a ‘WrestleMania 34’ match to declare an official Champion to replace Amore. He also added that it is time for 205 Live to be the show fans wanted it to be.

With Tyler Bate, Roderick Strong and now Mark Andrews being brought in for the tournament and some fantastic segments and matches, it looks like 205 Live is on the rise.

It is now being reported by PWInsider that Vince McMahon has stepped down from control over the show and gave that power to Triple H. As most fans are aware, ‘The Game’ also has control over NXT which is always looked at positively by viewers.

Working alongside Triple H will be Jonathan Baeckstorm who is the current lead writer and has been working in that position since November 2016 after arriving in the company back in August 2013.

Joining them is former WWE Performance Center coach Adam Pearce who will be working as the lead producer on the show.

The decision to let Triple H have control was made as far back as mid-January as the company felt that the brand wasn’t doing well and had lost focus on the original goal. With the new team in place, the aim is to reboot the brand and fix the problems associated with it.

There may be a few roster changes over the coming weeks, with WWE NXT Superstar Roderick Strong being the first to be brought up to freshen the roster and show.

You can find the match Strong participated in below, where he had a surprise victory over Hideo Itami- who recently teased his exit from the company following that match.

Editor’s Note:

I have always liked 205 Live, but I do believe they lost focus of what they originally wanted with the show. These past two weeks have been really good and I do suggest you give them a watch if you haven’t yet. It is the beginning of a new era for the brand and with Triple H in charge, I think they’ll do just fine. It also may mean the return of Neville, who has a frozen contract with the company right now as he refuses to work. He worked alongside Triple H in NXT and with Triple H in charge with his track record, it could incentivize the high-flyer to make an in-ring return.

Who would you like to see on 205 Live? Do you believe this change will benefit the brand moving forward?
