New WWE Signee Reportedly Pursued for Months

In wrestling, it is safe to say Thea Trinidad was one of the hottest independent stars not to be signed with WWE. She is to play AJ Lee in the upcoming film by The Rock, which alone makes her a much bigger star as it provides her a larger spotlight.

WrestlingInc via PWInsider is reporting that WWE have been pursuing Thea Trinidad for months, leading to her eventually being signed.

Thea Trinidad once again appeared on NXT after previously appearing in the crowd during a match between Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Kassius Ohno, this time slapping Almas after he was on his way to a party with other women.

WWE have been pursuing her ever since The Rock pushed for her to play AJ Lee in ‘Fighting with My Family’ which is produced by WWE Studios, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider. She was supposedly expected to debut at NXT ‘TakeOver: Orlando’ with Almas in April but things obviously didn’t go that way.

Trinidad is engaged to WWE Cruiserweight competitor Austin Aries and first appeared for the company back in 2013 for a tryout, followed by working as a ‘Rosebud’ for Adam Rose. She appeared with Tyler Breeze backstage for NXT ‘TakeOver: Fatal 4 Way’ in 2014. She worked as an enhancement talent against NXT Women’s Champion Asuka in October 2016.
