Former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre is set to be inducted into the Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) Hall of Fame, according to WWE.com.

Before coming back to WWE, McIntyre worked elsewhere in the professional wrestling industry- which predominantly included working for Scottish promotion ICW.

Working under the name Drew Galloway- McIntyre was one of the top superstars in the company, facing the likes of Impact Wrestling star Grado and now-current NXT superstar Killian Dain back when he was known as Big Damo.

McIntyre has had a storied history with the company and was a mainstay in the promotion before he originally debuted with WWE. He was the very first ICW Heavyweight Champion, winning the now prestigious Championship in 2006 before recapturing it in 2014. There he would hold the Championship for 378 days.

The Glasgow-based promotion will induct McIntyre into their Hall of Fame on Monday, February 12. He will be at the promotion, which has an ongoing working agreement with WWE, in person where he will receive the honor.

The exclusive episode of ICW Fight Club where this induction is set to take place will be available via the company’s streaming service available here. It will take place at the 02 ABC in Glasgow and tickets, if you’re in the area and want to join in, are available here.

The Fight Club episode is dubbed the biggest episode in the company’s history and will see many big name independent wrestlers familiar with the promotion working the event.

Here are the confirmed matches and appearances:

  • Joey Fleish vs. Mikey Whiplash
  • Kid Fite vs. Jordan Devlin
  • Wolfgang vs. Big Grizzly
  • Drew McIntyre Hall of Fame Induction
  • ICW Women’s Championship: Viper (Piper Niven) vs. Kasey OR Martina (c)
  • DCT vs. Joseph Conners
  • ICW Heavyweight Championship: BT Gunn OR Bram (c) vs. Jack Jester OR James Storm

To clarify a few things- Devlin, Wolfgang, and Conners all competed in the WWE U.K. Tournament, Bram once worked as part of The Ascension in NXT and Viper competed in the Mae Young Classic as Piper Niven. James Storm is a veteran at Impact Wrestling and has had a match or two with NXT.

The opponent Viper faces is dependent on who walks out of the Square Go ICW event as Women’s Champion. In similar fashion, BT Gunn will meet Bram in a match for the ICW Heavyweight Champion. The winner will face the number one contender, which will be decided in a match between Jester and Storm at Square Go.

ICW tweeted the following on McIntyre’s induction:

McIntyre has since responded and appears to be truly humbled by the induction.
