We have yet another update on the contract of WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar through the Wrestling Observer Radio, with additional information from Pro Wrestling Unlimited.

Dave Meltzer explained that Lesnar has signed an improved, yet shorter contract. This will provide him more money per appearance and also allow him one fight with UFC, though this is seemingly likely to come after the contract ends.

The contract is expected to end before August and the SummerSlam PPV, which means Lesnar will lose the Championship before that time.

For fans thinking the WrestleMania 34 match went off-script, you’d be wrong. Meltzer reported that the match went as planned, which may have included busting Reigns open- though the plan wasn’t for it to be so bad.

When did Reigns know he was losing?

The finish of the match was, up until the day of WrestleMania, an F5 by Lesnar reversed into a Spear for the victory. On that, Reigns was under the impression he was capturing the Championship right through to when he arrived at the show.

For what it is worth, Paul Heyman, Lesnar, Reigns, and McMahon were some of the only people who knew the finish, as not even the writing team were made aware of it.
