He isn’t finished yet! At New Japan Pro Wrestling’s ‘New Year Dash’, the former WWE United States Champion attacked a top star and continued to make an impact in the company.

Coming off such a tough, exhilarating match last night against Kenny Omega at ‘Wrestle Kingdom 12,’ many did not anticipate seeing Jericho at ‘New Year Dash.’ But they were mistaken.

To end ‘New Year Dash,’ Los Ingobernables de Japon defeated CHAOS. The faction celebrated as Tetsuya Naito posed for the fans. This was when FOZZY’s lead singer made his attack.

From behind, the ‘Best in the World’ attacked Naito. This led to the Young Lions and LIJ coming to the ring to separate the two.

Naito, now enraged ran across the ring, attacking Jericho in the opposite corner. When he is pushed away, he spat at Jericho before doing his tranquilo pose in the middle of the ring, taunting Jericho.

The ‘Alpha’ broke away and attacked Naito while he was posing. Again the two are separated and Jericho was escorted from the ring.

Jericho began to throw objects from the crowd into the ring as he walked off, destroying the Japanese announce table in the process as security escorted him out.

Naito grabs a chair from a fan at ringside and despite the pleas of those in the ring, pretended to throw the chair at Jericho but instead sets it down in the ring and sits with his back to Jericho.

The final shot of the scene showed Jericho with a slight smirk (as shown in our article image).

It does appear now that the former WWE superstar will be continuing to work with the company for the immediate future in a match with Naito. This will likely take place at the American show the company is planning to have in March.

This feud didn’t come from nowhere. We speculate the seeds were planted through Naito refusing to believe Jericho and Omega would be having a co-main event with he and Kazuchika Okada at ‘Wrestle Kingdom 12.’

It is therefore possible to speculate the whole Naito/Jericho feud before ‘Wrestle Kingdom 12’ was a work to prepare for that match, just as Jericho had been doing with Omega prior to their match announcement.
