Mantell was asked if it is at all possible or likely that Swagger could sign with GFW, which Mantell would respond to:
“I talk to Jack every couple of weeks. Since he left WWE, he has expressed some interest and we have some interest in him. He was on the road for 10 years, and I think right now he is enjoying his time off. But, I am interested in bringing him in. I think he is a great in-ring talent and performer. Even better than that, he is a great guy to be around. I think you could possibly see him in GFW soon.”
From this we can learn that on both sides there is some level of interest and likelihood that Swagger can debut in GFW. However, Swagger is enjoying his time right now on the independent circuit, which allows him much more freedom and time to pursue other areas of interest.
Mantell also commented on the unification of the GFW and Impact Wrestling titles moving forward:
“We have combined the titles into one, it will be the GFW Global Heavyweight Title, The Knockout title will remain the same and the X Division Title will remain the same, everyone will be competing for one belt.”
If any more news does come out on the potential signing of the man formerly known as Jack Swagger, Wrestling Rumors will bring the news to you.
I would be so excited personally to see Swagger in a GFW ring. I always felt he was underutilized in WWE, right up until he was gone. Always one of my favorites. If he goes here, I could see him being World Champion easy. The roster should allow him some fantastic matches, too.
