NXT standout performer The Velveteen Dream has recently called out independent wrestlers who’ve come to WWE in a heated shoot post to his Twitter account, according to WWE’s official website.

Over the past few years, NXT has had success with a combination of homegrown talent such as Elias, The Revial and Charlotte Flair as well as talent found on the independent circuit such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Kassius Ohno, Apollo and The Undisputed Era.

Dream took to his Twitter account to say the following message posted and screenshotted from the notes app on his Apple device:

“If I can shoot for a minute…

I’m beyond irritated by the indy guys coming into NXT, taking up spots, living out their dreams, pretending to be actual talent. Or as WE put it “Superstars.”

I’m homegrown talent and I breed success on my own terms. Reactions prove it. Facts are facts.

If anyone under contract has issue with it, “The Dream” is easy to find.

#FabeThat”

After the original tweet and article by WWE, Dream took to his Twitter account to share another message, denying the ideas WWE put forth in their article.

WWE note on their website that the person in particular Dream is referencing may be Tyler Bate as the two have had a rough interaction recently.

Tyler Bate douses Velveteen Dream: NXT Exclusive, Feb. 21, 2018

In response to this tweet, a few users on Twitter have explained he may be referencing RIcochet, who has just made his NXT live event debut against new 205 Live star Buddy Murphy.

We believe that this is more of a work and not a shoot from Dream and the company and will likely lead to a ‘TakeOver’ match against Ricochet, though we expect him to face and defeat Bate during the next set of tapings in preparation for the match.
