F4WOnline and WrestlingInc have revealed some backstage information on what WWE intend to do with the now vacant NXT Women’s Championship.

The video below showcases the new version of the NXT Women’s Championship that was revealed earlier this year. If you haven’t seen it, or want to see a more up close look at it, we highly recommend watching this video.

The new NXT Women's Title is revealed: NXT Takeover: Orlando 4K Exclusive, April 1, 2017

Both websites note that Asuka vacated the Championship in a segment that should air in this upcoming episode on Wednesday. We reported earlier that she suffered a collarbone injury against Ember Moon back at ‘TakeOver: Brooklyn III.’

On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that WWE has been in discussion to perhaps crown the winner of the ‘Mae Young Classic’ with the NXT Women’s Championship. The finals of the tournament are to take place live from Las Vegas on Tuesday, September 12 at 10pm EST right after ‘Smackdown’ goes off the air.

Asuka is reportedly heating to the main roster, as NXT General Manager William Regal explained that he is negotiating with both ‘Raw’ and ‘Smackdown’ on which brand Asuka should go to. She is expected to be out of action with the injury for the next couple of months if the injury is legitimate.
