AJ Styles has name-dropped several wrestlers he would love to compete against in the WWE—including Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Samoa Joe—but at the top of his list is none other than Shawn Michaels.

He first made headlines about this dream match when he tweeted out a photo of himself standing face-to-face with Michaels back in October. Since then he’s participated in numerous interviews, such as his guest spot on Heated Conversations with Booker T recently, and he’s reiterated his hopes for such a match time and time again.

Though he acknowledged that such a match could only happen if the fans asked for it and Michaels agreed to it, he’s ready and willing if that day comes.

“It’s not up to me to have those dream matches, it’s up to the WWE Universe to have those dream matches,” Styles said. “Whatever they want, I want to deliver; and whether or not Shawn wants to do something like that, that’s up to him. I totally respect who he is and what he has done for this business, so that is totally in his court.”
