Former “WWE Tough Enough” star AJ Kirsch has been nominated for the cover of Men’s Health magazine. Kirsch is entered as a contestant for the “Ultimate Men’s Health Guy Search” competition, where fans can vote for who they want to be on the cover for the November issue. Below are some of the highlights of Kirsch’s entry.

HOW DO YOU STAY FIT AND HEALTHY? WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO YOU?

“My physical health is the pillar of my complete well-being. Six days a week start at the gym, regardless of how early I have to wake up. It MUST happen. At least 90 minutes of a combination of cardiovascular exercise, weight training, stretching/yoga and foam roller work guarantee I start my day strong. But the gym is equally instrumental to my mental health and positive attitude. It sets the tone for the rest of the day. After a good work out, I’ll walk out of the gym feeling absolutely unstoppable, ready to grab my day by the horns.”

HOW DO YOU MEASURE SUCCESS? HAVE YOU ACHIEVED IT?

“Part of the fun of chasing down my dreams is to help my friends chase down theirs, using my success as a vehicle to help others succeed. I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a damn good few years, from being a contestant on the reality show “WWE Tough Enough,” to being interviewed by Larry King and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, to enjoying a blossoming career in acting/commercial work. That’s all well and good. But when your friends see your success and seek out your insight so they, too, can pursue THEIR success, you’re doing something right.”

HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY/FRIENDS/FAMILY?

“After years of cultivating a healthy lifestyle, I’ve earned the reputation as being the go-to guy for health and fitness advice for my friends, family, and co-workers. But my success has also afforded me the opportunity to make a difference in my community. Recently, I’ve been working with TNDC, an organization that raises money for after-school programs for kids in the Tenderloin, one of San Francisco’s most dangerous neighborhoods. I consider it an honor to be in a position to use my own personal success as a way to help my friends, family, co-workers, and community.”

Kirsch was eliminated from the reality show just before the final round back in 2011, though cut a memorable promo that even received praise from The Rock. Today, he is involved with the Hoodslam promotion, based out of California. Last year, Wrestling Rumors interviewed Kirsch about his experiences with TNA’s “Gut Check” that never came to fruition.

Editors Note

It’s good to see Kirsch staying in the spotlight. The Hoodslam promotion is something unique, and it would be great to see it benefit from him appearing on the cover.
