Earlier this week, it was noted former NXT Champion Adrian Neville is next in line for a WWE call-up. Because of which, the powers that be are said to be working on a new gimmick for the foreign-born champion.

According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, there may be more to what was originally revealed.

Per Dave Meltzer, the company is considering throwing a mask on Neville to help get over a new gimmick based on the “Mighty Mouse” cartoon character. The idea behind the gimmick is, because Neville stands at only 5-foot-9 and weighs less than 200 lbs., he contains strength in a small package.

WWE has considered putting masks on other people before for new gimmicks, though it never came to fruition. Earlier this year it was said it thought about masking Tyson Kidd, but ultimately ended up choosing not to do so.

Neville is expected to make his Madison Square Garden debut Friday night as WWE heads to New York City for its annual holiday live event.
