Back in May, Wrestling Rumors noted the sixth season of the popular “WWE Tough Enough” reality show was set to begin taping this upcoming July. The focus of the series was to be changed a bit, no longer bringing in outsiders for casting. Instead, the focus of the show was to shift to those in the NXT developmental system.

A new report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims, however, there have been some holdups with the new season.

According to the outlet, there has been little discussion about details regarding the actual show itself from within. And because of such, there has been virtually no movement on getting things ready for filming. The biggest obstacle appears to be locking up key names for the show, as the trainers are usually some of the more extroverted characters on the show.

Trainers for the most recent season of the show included Bill DeMott, who is currently a head trainer in NXT, Booker T and Trish Stratus. In the past, names like Al Snow, Ivory and Hardcore Holly did the honors.

It is also unknown at this time who will be hosting the program. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin did the honors in Season 5.

The show is scheduled to air exclusively on the WWE Network.

Editor’s Note

I’m looking forward to the show, so I hope there is some clearance coming soon. Let’s get the universe more familiar with some talent.
