PWInsider.com is reporting that TNA and star AJ Styles have come to terms on a short-term contract extension that will keep him on television at least through his current storyline. Styles’ contract is expected to expire relatively soon, and the contract TNA reportedly offered him prior is worth significantly less than what he has gotten before.

Wrestling Rumors reported earlier in the week that the two sides were moving closer towards a fresh contract, and this is a sign that they have made progress.

Styles appeared on Thursday night’s episode of Impact Wrestling and openly called out TNA for his role in the company over the past few years. He mentioned how he had wished he was fired at times, and openly begged TNA executive Dixie Carter for relieve him of his duties.

The 36-year-old has been with the company since 2002.
