TNA is preparing to re-brand its flagship show “Impact Wrestling” Wednesday night, as it debuts on Destination America. As many changes have been put in motion, it is said a former champion is backstage for the tapings.

PWInsider reports former WWE Diva Kharma, also known as Awesome Kong during her time in TNA, is currently at the Manhattan Center for the debut tapings. However, it is unknown if she will be used in any capacity for the show.

Last year, the 37-year-old noted she was close to returning to television, though nothing amounted. She has said in the past TNA was behind her, though in wrestling, returns are known to never be impossible.

After several years in TNA as Awesome Kong, she took to WWE in 2011 to debut as a monster Diva. However, just more than a month after her debut and before even wrestling a match, she took a leave of absence as she was pregnant. The baby ultimately did not survive the pregnancy, however, and she returned in the 2012 Royal Rumble match. This was her only match in WWE.

Since, she has returned to the independent circuit, looking noticeably slimmer.

Editor’s Note

There’s a lot of potential for someone like her, though I think that ship may have sailed.
