Evan Bourne Talks Chris Jericho, How He Got Released, Independent Circuit, Politics

Former WWE Superstar Evan Bourne took to Reddit to hold a forum chat this past week, where he discussed many different aspects related to his wrestling career. Some of the highlights of the conversation can be found below.

Regarding his program with Chris Jericho in 2010:

“Jericho is one of the best of all time. He was amazing to work with!! Easily one of the best guys I’ve had one on one matches with. The best part was working with him on live events…100% Legend! I don’t think he’ll ever stop having incredible matches.”

It was noted over the summer WWE came to terms on his release. He then revealed how he found out he was let go:

“It was a FAX”

He will be returning to the independent circuit under his real name, Matt Sydal. There he will face some of the business’ best. He gave his thoughts on who he is looking forward to facing:

“Adam Cole, Mike Sydal, Jay Lethal, AJ Styles, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Riley….and about 25 more guys. I’m looking forward to beating Roderick Strong 20 times in a row.”

Sydal also discussed who in WWE is into politics:

“Backstage chatter mainly consisted of talking shop or talking sports. There were some people who liked to engage in politically or philosophically charged conversations. Brooklyn Brawler was great to talk politics with, Daniel Bryan and I have some common ideologies. MVP, Kane, Chris Masters, we all enjoyed talking about current events and politics.”
